Original Ideas Statement

The idea for the name of my music magazine is ‘Zing’. I am thinking of using this name because it means passion and energy. In this case it means specifically passion for music. The dictionary defines ‘Zing’ as “vitality, animation or zest” and “a quality or characteristic that excites the interest, enthusiasm”. ‘Zing’ sums up the attitude of the magazine and its audience well because it suggests a passion for life. The potential strapline for my magazine is “Your magazine for music and gadgets”.  My magazine will be full of articles about music, focusing on indie bands. There will be interviews with new bands, for example. It will also contain articles about technology. For instance, reviews of new phones. I think music and technology will sit side-by-side well in a magazine, as long as the technology featured is not ‘geeky’.
